Plastazote LD32CN

Plastazote LD32CN is a type of closed-cell polyethylene foam that is part of the Plastazote range, manufactured by Zotefoams. It is lightweight, durable, and highly versatile. The "LD32" refers to its low-density (32 kg/m³) foam composition, while "CN" indicates a conductive variant. This foam is commonly used in applications requiring impact protection, insulation, or cushioning, and in its conductive form, it is suitable for use in environments where electrostatic discharge (ESD) needs to be controlled. Plastazote LD32CN is also valued for its chemical resistance, water resistance, and ease of fabrication, making it suitable for industries like electronics, aerospace, medical, and packaging.

Key Properties:

  • Density: Approximately 32 kg/m³ (light-density foam).
  • Thermal Conductivity: Typically around 0.033 W/m·K, offering effective thermal insulation.
  • Surface resistivity: ~10³–10⁵ ohms (conductive range for ESD protection).
  • Functional in temperatures ranging from -70°C to +100°C.
  • Thermal Conductivity: Low thermal conductivity, making it suitable for insulation applications.
  • Water Absorption: Less than 1% over 7 days (closed-cell structure minimizes water retention)..
  • Resistant to most chemicals, oils, and solvents, but not recommended for prolonged exposure to strong acids or hydrocarbons.
